The Darvinian museum invites to the photo exhibition "Science in High Latitudes"

State Darwin Museum and Institute of oceanology of P.P. Shirshov of RAS represent the photo exhibition "Science in High Latitudes" (on January 26 - on April 17, 2016). The exhibition is devoted to work of scientists-oceanologists in the Kara Sea, the Laptev Sea and on the archipelago of Novaya Zemlya.

People explore the Arctic since the 16th century, but it still remains the most mysterious, remote area of our planet. The pictures taken by the head of sea Arctic expeditions Mihail Flint, photographers Yaroslav Amelin and Vladimir Onopko are presented at an exhibition. You will see how scientists in the Arctic onboard the modern research vessel work as they are put ashore Novaya Zemlya for collecting unique materials. Landscapes of Novaya Zemlya will tell about how it is unique its coast and glaciers lit with the rare sun, covered with fog, low clouds and the first autumn snow are beautiful and laconically strict.
