Big scientific expedition to the Arctic
From September 26 to November 5, 2020, six employees of our laboratory worked in the seas of the Russian Arctic as part of the 82nd voyage of the Academician Mstislav Keldysh research vessel. During the cruise, oceanological studies were carried out in the Kara Sea, the Laptev Sea and the East Siberian Sea. The staff of our laboratory took a key part in organizing and conducting the voyage: A.A. Osadchiev was the deputy head of the expedition and the head of the hydrology detachment, E.V. Yakushev was the head of the hydrochemistry detachment, V.V. Pelevin was the head of the ocean remote sensing unit. During the voyage, large arrays of hydrophysical, hydrochemical and hydro-optical data were collected. Important results were obtained on the current state of hydrophysical and hydrochemical processes in the Russian Arctic.
