For a comprehensive study of the processes occurring in the shallow coastal zone in the eastern part of the Caspian in the region of the Mangyshlak Peninsula, the P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology RAS in collaboration with the S. Yesenov Caspian State University of Technology and Engineering from July 26 to 29, 2019, a second expedition was conducted at a training ground near Aktau. The expedition program included hydrophysical, hydrooptical, hydrochemical and hydrobiological studies.
